I have a confession: I am absolutely obsessed with skin health!
I truly believe you can tell a person’s state of health by the look of their skin. Is your skin dull, pale or blotchy? Or is it soft, blemish-free & vibrant? We can buy so many skin care products over the counter to make our skin appear more youthful, reduce acne and soothe dryness. While some products are fantastic, most of them are full of chemicals that aren’t good for our bodies.
We absorb everything we put onto our skin.
What we eat & drink also has a major influence on the look of our skin. Eating lots of sugar and processed foods accelerates ageing as it damages collagen and elastin; the fibres which keep our skin firm and elastic. Eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, on the other hand, keeps skin young and glowing because they contain an abundance of antioxidants – protecting the skin against damage and early ageing.
I have designed a recipe perfect for beautiful skin and its super easy to make! It’s low in sugar and is bursting with antioxidants and healthy fats. I have used a vegan, alkaline protein powder as well. If you don’t have any plant based protein, you can leave it out but please don’t replace it with whey or any other dairy based protein. If you’d like to know why, read my post on dairy and acne.
Begin this recipe the night before so the oats have time to soak. Let me know if you try it 🙂
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
